Kylian Mbappé once again proved his worth as a world-class talent, scoring the decisive goal in Paris Saint-Germain's 4-1 victory over Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals on Wednesday.
After a tight first half, Mbappé broke the deadlock in the 55th minute, latching onto a pass from Lionel Messi and finishing coolly past Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen. PSG doubled their lead in the 63rd minute through Neymar, who slotted home a penalty kick after being fouled by Jordi Alba.
Barcelona pulled a goal back in the 75th minute through Robert Lewandowski, but Mbappé restored PSG's two-goal lead just two minutes later, completing his brace with a brilliant solo effort.
PSG put the match to bed in the 85th minute when Sergio Ramos headed home a corner kick from Messi. The win gives PSG a commanding 4-1 lead heading into the second leg in Barcelona next week.
Mbappé was named the man of the match for his outstanding performance, which included three shots on target and two assists. He has now scored seven goals in the Champions League this season, making him the competition's joint-top scorer alongside Bayern Munich's Robert Lewandowski.
PSG will look to build on this victory and advance to the semi-finals when they host Barcelona at the Parc des Princes next Wednesday, April 24th.
