Just Months After Suffering a Cardiac Arrest
Thankful Bronny James Makes College Debut in Loss for USC Nearly 5 Months After Cardiac Arrest
Just months after suffering a cardiac arrest, Bronny James made his college basketball debut with the USC Trojans. The highly touted recruit played 20 minutes in the Trojans' 88-75 loss to the Long Beach State 49ers on Saturday night.
James finished with 5 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists in his debut. He also had 3 turnovers.
"It was great to be back out there on the court," James said after the game. "It's been a long road back, but I'm just thankful to be able to play again."
James' debut was a bright spot in an otherwise disappointing night for the Trojans. The loss dropped USC to 0-3 on the season.
Despite the loss, James said he was excited to be a part of the Trojans program.
"I'm just trying to get better every day and help this team win," James said. "I'm looking forward to the rest of the season."
