About the Auto Collection
The Imperial Palace Auto Collection, now located on the fifth floor of the LINQ's parking garage, is home to dozens of classic cars. The museum is open daily from 9:30 am to 11:30 pm.
History of the Collection
The Auto Collection was founded by Ralph Engelstad, the former owner of the Imperial Palace hotel and casino. Engelstad began collecting cars in the 1960s, and his collection eventually grew to include over 200 vehicles. In 2009, Engelstad donated his collection to the city of Las Vegas, and the museum was opened to the public in 2010.
Highlights of the Collection
The Imperial Palace Auto Collection features a wide variety of classic cars, including:
- A 1934 Packard 1107 V-12 Dual Windshield Phaeton
- A 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air
- A 1965 Ford Mustang
- A 1969 Pontiac GTO
- A 1970 Plymouth Hemi Cuda
The museum also features a number of interactive exhibits, including a driving simulator and a car restoration workshop.
